1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how KES TEK ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you deploy or use DataKook ("the Application") in your Microsoft Azure environment. DataKook is designed to operate entirely within the customer's Azure subscription, ensuring that your data remains under your full control.
2. Data Ownership and Control
All data managed or displayed through DataKook — including connected databases, configurations, logs, and query results — remains in your own Azure environment. KES TEK does not store, copy, or process your business data outside your Azure subscription.
3. Information We Collect
DataKook may store certain configuration and user information necessary for the product to function correctly, including:
- Application configuration settings
- Database connection metadata (host, user, etc.)
- User authentication and access control details
- System logs and diagnostic events
This information is stored securely within the internal PostgreSQL database deployed with DataKook or within Azure Key Vault resources under your subscription.
4. Data Security
DataKook uses Azure's built-in security features, including encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest. Sensitive values such as passwords and connection strings are encrypted and may be stored in Azure Key Vault.
Access to the Application and its APIs can be secured using Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) or SAML-based authentication, depending on your setup.
5. Use of Information
The configuration data collected by DataKook is used solely for:
- Establishing connections to customer databases
- Displaying, analyzing, and managing database content
- Providing activity logs, query history, and audit features
- Improving product stability and troubleshooting issues
6. Sharing of Information
KES TEK does not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third party. Any logs or telemetry you explicitly share for support purposes remain confidential and are used only to resolve reported issues.
7. Compliance
KES TEK complies with the Moroccan Law 09-08 on data protection and with applicable international data privacy regulations, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
8. Customer Responsibilities
As the Azure subscription owner, you are responsible for:
- Configuring proper access permissions within Azure
- Protecting database credentials and secrets
- Maintaining compliance with your organization's security policies
9. Retention and Deletion
All information stored by DataKook resides within your Azure subscription. When you uninstall or delete the Application, all related configuration data and logs are permanently deleted from your environment. KES TEK retains no copies of customer data.
10. Updates to This Policy
KES TEK may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. Updated versions will be published at datakook.com/legal/privacy.
